FAQs

Q: What insurance do you accept and are you a preferred provider for any of the major dental insurance companies?

A: Weimar Family Dentistry is an independent provider for most dental insurance plans and is a preferred provider for Delta Dental Premier, HealthPartners and United Health Care. If you ever have any questions about your dental insurance benefits, please feel free to ask our friendly, knowledgeable staff. We’re always happy to help you further understand your policy and make the most of your insurance benefits.

Q: What payment options do you provide?

A: For your convenience, we accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. Patients paying in full on the day of service by cash or check receive a 5% percent discount (seniors receive a 10% discount). See Financial Policy and Special Offers for unique offers and advanced payment options.

Q: How does Dr. Weimar keep up-to-date on all of the current techniques and materials?

A: Dr. Weimar and his team of dedicated professionals participate in formal dental education coursework, online training and self study. Dr. Weimar continually invests in technology that improves diagnostic capabilities and enhances the patient experience.

Q: How often should I visit the dentist for a checkup?

A: An average, healthy adult typically benefits from a professional cleaning and checkup every six months. While twice daily brushing and flossing go a long way towards maintaining a healthy mouth, it is wise to check for plaque that has hardened into tartar, which requires professional cleaning in order to avoid gingivitis.

Q: When should I schedule my child’s first dental visit?

A: At Weimar Family Dentistry we begin seeing patients at 3 years of age. The first visit is mainly for Dr. Weimar to examine your child’s mouth and to check growth and development. It’s also about getting your child comfortable with going to the dentist and educating parents on healthy dental habits. To make the visit a positive experience Dr. Weimar suggests:

  • Make a morning appointment when children tend to be rested and cooperative.
  • Keep any anxiety or concerns you have to yourself. Children can pick up on your emotions, so emphasize the positive.
  • Talk with your child about visiting the dentist.
  • Never use a dental visit as a punishment or threat.
  • Never bribe your child.

During this visit, you can expect Dr. Weimar and a hygienist to:

  • Inspect for oral injuries, cavities or other problems.
  • Let you know if your child is at risk of developing tooth decay.
  • Clean your child’s teeth and provide tips for daily care.
  • Discuss teething, pacifier use, or finger/thumb sucking habits.
  • Discuss treatment, if needed, and schedule the next check-up.

Q: What do I do if I have an emergency when the office is closed?

A: As part of our commitment to our patients, Dr. Weimar is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to respond to emergencies and answer questions. If you have an emergency after hours, simply call the office at 763-493-9446 and let us know the nature of your condition. We will return your call as soon as possible, give you helpful information over the phone, and determine if you need to be seen immediately.

Q: What makes you different than any other dental practice I can visit?

A: Weimar Family Dentistry is known as Maple Grove and the surrounding area’s choice for anxiety free dentistry due to Dr. Weimar's extensive education of Sedation Dentistry. From the time you walk in the door to the end of any treatment, you will notice the difference.  You can expect individualized attention in a warm and caring environment. We offer a comprehensive array of preventive, restorative, and cosmetic dental services; most within our facility and in one visit.
